Maintenance Tips for
Lasting Extensions

The right care routine keeps your extensions soft, healthy and beautiful for longer.

Follow these professional tips between appointments.

01

Brush Gently, Every Day

Use a soft loop or extension brush and work from ends to roots, holding the hair at the base to protect the bonds. Brushing twice daily prevents tangles. Additionally, separate the extension strands at the root with your fingers daily to prevent matting as your hair grows and sheds.

02

Wash with Sulfate-Free Products

Wash two to three times a week, keeping your head upright and smoothing shampoo downward. Apply conditioner from mid-lengths to ends, avoiding the attachment points.

03

Dry Thoroughly at the Roots

Never sleep on damp hair. Blot gently with a microfibre towel, then blow-dry the roots and bonds on a low heat setting before finishing the lengths.

04

Style with Heat Protection

Always apply a heat protectant and keep hot tools on a moderate temperature. Keep irons and wands away from the bonds to preserve both the attachment and the hair.

05

Protect Your Hair Overnight

Sleep on a silk pillowcase and tie hair in a loose braid or low ponytail to reduce friction. Book regular maintenance appointments to keep your extensions looking flawless.

Common Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most about choosing, wearing and caring for hair extensions.

Which type of hair extensions is right for me?

It depends on your natural hair density. Nano rings are smaller and the most invisible but they only work for med-fine hair. Thick hair needs micro rings, which are slightly bigger which makes them more sturdy and secure for heavier hair. A consultation is the best way to find your ideal match.

Will extensions damage my natural hair?

When applied, maintained and removed by a trained professional, extensions should not damage your natural hair. Problems usually come from incorrect placement, skipped maintenance or DIY removal.

How long do hair extensions last?

You'll need a maintenance appointment every 6–8 weeks as your natural hair grows. With proper care, quality hair can often be reused across several applications. Because our hair is such high quality, careful clients can get up to 18 months use.

How should I care for my extensions at home?

Use sulphate-free products, brush gently from ends to roots with an extensions brush, keep conditioner away from bonds, and sleep with your hair in a loose braid. Always use heat protection when styling.

Can I swim, colour or heat style with extensions?

Yes, with care. Tie hair up and rinse after swimming, leave colour changes to your stylist, and keep hot tools away from attachment points.
